Blackpio è la creazione di un mondo vettoriale animato da rosee rotondità. Gli abitanti che popolano questo sito sono via via diversi, mutano con il mutare di stagioni e stati d’animo. Con i loro occhi enormi guardano l’esterno, cercando il senso e la ragione di tutto ciò che li circonda. Gli stessi personaggi sognanti prendono vita ora anche su t-shirts, pins, cartoline e posters.
Chi plasma questo mondo è Valentina Sedda, designer sarda ma milanese d’adozione, classe 1983.
 Il nome Blackpio proviene dalla mania per i pulcini neri, dal contrasto tra il fatto che siano piccoli e innocenti ma anche piuttosto cupi.
"Adoro gli opposti, la serietà del nero e la giocosità dell'imitare verso del pulcino interpretano benissimo le mie attitudini caratteriali".
Comincia a disegnare da piccolissima, le matite colorate come compagne di gioco.
"Credo che il primo ricordo della mia infanzia sia quello dei miei due nonni che, in una serata estiva, temperano per me le matite, affacciati alla finestra della mia cameretta. Avrò avuto poco più di 2 anni".
Le sue illustrazioni si propongono di far sorgere in chi le guarda quelle domande e quei sogni di cui spesso solo i bambini sono capaci.
"Vorrei che ci si ponesse davanti alla routine del quotidiano per indagarne il significato, per ribaltarla e guardarla sotto nuovi meravigliosi e stravolgenti aspetti. Mi piacerebbe che si andasse oltre la tangibilità delle cose per scoprire il proprio mondo di immaginazione".
I disegni rappresentano la sua interiorità che si affaccia sulla realtà esterna e la rielabora.
"I miei personaggi sono spesso rappresentazioni di me stessa, dei miei stati d'animo e dei miei quesiti. Si potrebbe dire che guardano e cercano di capire ciò che noi viviamo, ma gli attribuiscono un significato consolatorio trasformandolo in una fiaba".
Sono fonte d'ispirazione per queste illustrazioni il mondo onirico, i ricordi, il mood e i testi di un certo tipo di musica, i libri, i film e, più in generale, dalle forme d'espressione di qualunque sorta.   ENGLISH PLEASE!
Blackpio is the creation of a vectorial world animated by pinkish roundness. The inhabitants of this website are always different; they change with both the changing of the seasons and with one’s state of mind. They look at the outside witheir huge eyes, seeking a sense and a reason in all that is around them. The same dreaming characters will soon also live on t-shirts, pins, postcards and posters.
It’s me, Valentina Sedda, born in 1983, a Sardinian designer of “Milanese” adoption who moulds this world.
The name Blackpio has developed out of my mania for black chicks, from the contrast of their being small and innocent but also rather dark.
The name was coined specifically from the contrasting opposites, from the seriousness of black and the playfulness of aping the chicks’ voices.
I began designing when I was very little; coloured pencils were my favourite toys. Maybe my first childhood memory takes me back to a summer evening when my two grandparents were sharpening pencils for me, standing at the window of my room. I was just a little over 2 years old.
I would like to make the people who look at my illustrations ask all those questions that often only children ask and dream only what they dream. Everyone should put the everyday routine in front of himself trying to find out its meaning, turning it over looking at it under new wonderful different aspects. I would like people to go over the tangibility of thins to discover their own world of imagination.
For me these designs represent the interiority coming out of the external reality, elaborating it again. My characters are often a representation of myself, of my moods and of my questions. I could say that they are looking around trying to understand how we are living, but ascribing to what they see a consolatory meaning transforming it into a story.
I take inspiration from the oneiric world, from memories and moods, from the words of a certain kind of music.
