Qualsiasi appassionato di moda sa che scarpe costose ed acqua non vanno molto d'accordo assieme.
Se la loro durata non fosse stata un problema siamo sicuri che avreste addosso un paio di Blahniks tutti i giorni.
SWIMS, una compagnia scanvinava conosciuta per i suoi oggetti di stile ha appena presentato il "City Slipper High Heel". Come altri prodotti SWIMS, il design di City Slipper è semplice e carino, in linea con la filosofia della compagnia.

Inoltre il design annovera molti piccoli dettagli sia pratici che estetici.

Any fashionista knows expensive heels and water do not go together. If durability weren’t such an issue, I’m sure you’d rock those blahniks daily. SWIMS, a Scandinavian company known for making stylish galoshes just released the City Slipper high heel.  Like the other SWIMS products, the design of the City Slipper is simple and beautiful and in line with company’s Scandanavian heritage. In addition, the design incorporates lots of great details both for practical and aesthetic reasons.

- Extra traction for slippery surfaces.
- The sole of each CitySlipper has the map of either New York, Paris or Tokyo.
- Pull on/off grip and the soft siliconpad on the sides makes it very convenient.
- Flexible design to fit almost any heel height and thickness due to flexible material and construction.
- Protection for the delicate leather/suede sole of your shoe and the tip of the shoe against the elements.
- Low-Cut style is for shoes with bows and buckles.

Vi siete mai chiesti come sarebbe vivere a testa in giù? E dormire come un vampiro? Essere intrappolati in una prigione?

Sono sempre di più Gli hotel particolari che ci consentono di vivere esperienze al limite dell'umana concezione... Un'idea potrebbe essere quella di farsi una gita all'hotel Upside Down dove tutto è capovolto, oppure guardare un film horror dentro un letto a forma di bara ovviamente collocato in una soffitta... Inoltre questo hotel ha anche una fantastica tipologia di check out: siete abituati ad avere un'intensa vita notturna? Nessun problema! Basta con le classiche frasi "le camere devono essere lasciate libere entro le...", qui potrete dormire tutta la giornata senza problemi.

Siete più romantici? Allora la stanza a specchi, sempre dello stesso albergo, fa per voi. Gli specchi sono considerati tipicamente un'aggiunta erotica alle camere ma in questo caso sono un vero e proprio stravolgimento della stanza.

Siete trasgressivi? Benissimo, abbiamo anche una stanza con due gabbie per ogni evenienza oppure la finta prigione, dalla quale dovrete "evadere" alla fine del vostro pernottamento. Come? Distruggendo la parete, scavandovi cosi la vostra uscita verso la libertà.

Parliamo poi della stanza dei simboli, oltre ad essere stupenda per la combinazione dei due colori bianco / nero e per la scelta iconografica, grazie agli oltre 200 pannelli di legno unici non troverete mai due disegni uguali.

L'arredamento può essere spostato e girato, per costruire le combinazioni che preferite.

Ever wonder what it would be like to live upside-down, sleep like a vampire or break out of prison? More and more hotels are breaking out of the tradition of cookie-cutter rooms and are moving toward unique one-of-a-kind artist-driven room designs. Here are sixteen such rooms that span the spectrum from clever and kitchy to sexy and surreal. Even though some may look uncomfortable, unusual or downright freakish at least they aren’t among the 7 tiniest hotel rooms in the world.

Watching horror movies one has to be a little bit curious about whether it is comfortable for vampires to sleep in attic coffins. Now those who are so inclined (or who prefer partying at night and sleeping during the day) can experience this vampire room first hand at the Propeller Island Hotel.

Prefer something less kitchy and more romantic? Perhaps the mirror room of the same hotel is for you. Mirrors are typically considered an erotic addition to a hotel room but this example carries the principle to the extreme with wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling mirrors spanning the diamond-shaped space.

Mirrors too cliche and traditional for your tastes? How about a room with elegant furnishings and also complete with not one but two cages. Perhaps the most amazing (and strange) aspect of this particular room is the option to lift curtains and put on shows for one’s neighboring guests.

Up for more of an adventure? One room is outfitted as a surrealistically colored jail cell reminiscent of a cartoon lockup. At the end of the night, guests are encouraged to ‘break out’ of the room by punching and escaping through a hole in one false wall.

The symbol room might be more appropriate for the reserved and intellectual clientele. With over 200 unique wood panels, this room provides endless black-and-white food for thought as well as arrangeable furniture objects that can be turned over and moved to create personalized configurations.

Questa gigante torre a forma di "W" è l'ultimissimo progetto delle Walter Towers a Praga, disegnato dagli architetti del gruppo Bjarke Ingels.
Ci piace veramente tanto l'idea di questa struttura, in grado di assecondare la tradizione architettonica di Praga e allo stesso tempo creare un'immagine cosi forte da poter diventare un'icona della stessa città.
Quello che apparirà come 4 torri diverse in realtà è un unico progetto con una costruzione continua che si slancia verso l'alto per sfruttare tutta la superficie possibile creando cosi suggestivi e attraenti appartamenti e uffici.

This Giant W tower is the latest project on the Walter Towers in Prague. By the architects Bjarke Ingels Group. I love this towers design.

"How can you build a modern tower in this great line of beautiful towers that has become the trademark of Prague. Is it possible to build a tower that fits in the historical framework and the architectural tradtion of Prague and at the same time create an image that is so powerful that the tower can become an icon or landmark ot the Walter site.
What will appear as 4 different towers is actually one continuous building that is sliced up and pulled apart to maxmize the amount of surface and facade area to create attractive apartments.

Con il primo fresco si sta bene accoccolati in un bel letto avvolgente, un elemento d’arredo quasi premuroso come l’ambiente cocoon sviluppato da LOMME, il Light Over Matter Mind Evolution, che non a caso si è aggiudicato il RedDot Desig Award 2008. Progettato dal team creativo del brand design Cycle 13 LOMME, più che un letto è un ottimo esempio di design moderno che coccola i sensi e concilia sonno e relax per una migliore qualità della vita.

Le curve aerodinamiche e organiche della struttura 210×315x146 cm, ridefiniscono il design dello spazio, la gamma di colori della superficie interna stimola i sensi con la cromoterapia, mentre la dotazione di un impianto luminoso, audio e per il massaggio fanno il resto, creando l’ambiente ideale per l’attività di veglia e riposo. Per rendere il tutto ancora più funzionale, ogni funzione del prodigioso ‘letto’ è controllata da un iPhone, programmato appositamente per Lomme. Lo strumento per aspirare alla beatitudine è stato presentato al 100% Design 2008 di Londra.

I potentissimi diffusori surround non camufferanno le programmazioni sempre più tristi delle multisale.
Non abbiamo mai trattato questo argomento sul design magazine fino quando non ci siamo imbattuti in questo capolavoro realizzato a Dublino e progettato dai pluripremiati architetti di DTA.

Giochi di luce, uso armonioso del colore e della corretta spaziatura tra le file delle poltrone sono alcuni tra gli elementi caratteristici di questa costruzione. Un cinema a misura di "visitatore" e "utilizzatore", pensato per garantire la massima comodità e la migliore visuale.

Creato sui resti dello storico Light house Cinema, chiuso nel 1966, ha ri-aperto i battenti quest'estate

All'interno del cinema troviamo inoltre un servizio ristorazione / bar che vi accoglierà in un'atmosfera veramente suggestiva.

Great surroundings will not camouflage poor programming in movie theaters. No matter how swanky the theater, if it shows poor movies, we just won’t go. Which isn’t to say that we have given up on movie-theater design. We still wish that one day, somewhere, someone is going to design a decidedly different, interesting and exciting movie theater.

Glimpses of brilliance are visible in the new Light House Cinema at Smithfield in Dublin, Ireland designed by Dublin’s award-winning DTA Architects Of course, you really need to design — and judge — a movie theater so that it looks and functions best when people are using it. So, having not paid personal visits to the new Light House, we cannot say for sure, but the images we have received of the empty space indicate that the play of light, color and height works exceptionally well here.
Light House cinema has been a bit of an institution in Dublin. It started showing Irish, independent, foreign-language, art house and classic cinema 20 years ago, closed in 1966, and re-opened this summer in its new, customized space. The four-screen, intimate art-house cinema includes a wonderful, inviting and open cafe that looks like something you’d see at an art museum, not a movie theatre. The leader of the Light House project at DTA was Derek Tynan and the project architect was Colin Mackay.
